OPTION APPRAISAL
When a project commission is received by AKDP we take time to consider the Client's brief and to evaluate the various options that are available in order to achieve the desired end product. We see this as an invaluable exercise to be carried out in conjunction with the Client. FEASIBILITY EVALUATION
From the Client's brief it is of vital importance to consider whether the proposals actually work in terms of resource invested into the project, AKDP will provide schematic design and budget costs prior to commencement of detailed design. DETAILED DESIGN
The preparation of detailed design is congruous with achieving the ultimate end product and satisfying the Client's needs. It is essential to research and develop all appropriate detailed information during the design process to ensure that this is issued to the construction phase and is adequate and timely. DESIGN CO-ORDINATION
During the process of design it is necessary to bring together all of the information from all sources and to integrate these into the definitive project package. This process is not restricted to the design stage but must continue throughout the project timescale. BUILDING REGULATIONS
AKDP subscribes and maintains the updated Building Regulations within the Practice and is committed to ensure that compliance is demonstrated and met. It is a regular practice to liase with the Local Authority as necessary to ensure that all designs comply with the latest statutory requirement. TOWN PLANNING CONSENTS
The involvement of the Planning department at the earliest stage of a project is essential to the eventual approvals being given. AKDP as a matter of course discuss proposals with the local Authority, generally at feasibility stage if at all possible. DESIGNER RISK ASSESSMENTS
It is now absolutely essential that all designers consider and make allowance within all designs to account for the materials used, the construction process, subsequent maintenance and eventual disposal of all construction works. AKDP ensure that all designs generated are in compliance with the CDM Regulations. |
